Vabuk Pahari

I am a PhD student at the cs@max-planck program at Max-Planck-Institute for Software Systems (MPI-SWS). I am fortunate to have Krishna P. Gummadi (MPI-SWS) as my advisor, and I also collaborate with Andrea Canidio at Cow Protocol, Bala Chandrasekeran at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Patrick Loiseau at Inria. My research focuses on Decentralized Systes focusing on Blockchains, Cryptocurrencies and Decentralized Finance (DeFi). I work on fair prioritisation of transactions in blockchains, identifying transaction origination and exclusivity, and their implications for transaction prioritisation. Apart from blockchains, I also work on Bluesky and the AT Protocol, a decentralized social media platform. I obtained Bachelors (Double Major in Mathematics and Computer Science) and Masters in Computer Science from Wesleyan University (2015 - 2020), where I was supervised by Saray Shai. In My Masters Thesis, I analysed the robustness of large theoretical and real-world networks under different types of node removals.
